My thoughts...
After my friend Tiffany has been fangirling about this book like "OMG! This author is amazing, I never thought of this kind of plot. You must read it or DIE!" Most likely I didn't want to die so I read the book, but it took me a while to actually start on it. I was pretty busy this whole summer. Busy reading other things.
You know what the stupidest thing I have ever done is not picking up this book right away. WTF is wrong with me!!!! I am not exaggerating, I just fucking love Pivot Point. The cover is just mysterious and Kasie just wrote an amorous story. I fell in love with it in an instant. I was completely drowned in sentiments. Just WOAH! * Raises white flag*
Kasie, this story was just amazing! I have never read a more different and difficult story than yours. Creating Addie with her fortune telling powers was brilliant. Not only that, Addie can choose whichever path she likes to go to. Kinda like Left or Right. Good or Bad. Heaven or Hell. So in this review I wanna talk about 2 different fates that Addie gets to choose. Since Addie's parents have lost their intimate relationship with each other, they were forced by heart to get a divorce. Her dad wants to move out of the compound. To a place where all the norms live in. Her mom refuses to leave her home and she wants Addie to stay with her so she could develop her ability more with talented people like her in the compound.
First Fate
In this path Addie decides she wants to stay in the compound with her best friend and the other abnormal peeps. She wants to live with people like her since she's been in the compound all her life. But then she is pursued by the hottest legend in their school. Not only does she get hit on the head constantly by Duke, the raining Hot God, but her best friend is supportive about this. Love and Addie has never mixed well. She never wanted to be a quarterback's girlfriend.
Second Fate
In this path Addie decides to leave the compound and stay with her loving father, who now works for the FBI since he's some kind of lie detector. She tries to blend in with the norms, but she wasn't the most talented in making friends. She meets Trevor, he used to be a football player, but not everyone can throw a ball right or avoid permanent injuries. Trevor is Addie's next target for future BFF. But a guy can never be a girl's best friend...NEVER.
Ain't it the best plot ever? Although the story isn't perfect since the personality of Duke is overused, but Trevor was just sugar coated all over. It was difficult to choose which path I wanted but if I were Addie I would choose the second one. If I were a fortune teller like Addie of course I'd want to experience normality once in my life.
The writing style and the pacing of the story was just right. I finished the whole read in one day. Can you believe that?! So if I were you go grab a fucking copy right now! I'm so sorry...I did not express all my thoughts on the story since I'm speechless. I'm still in cliffhanger-attack.
I'm giving Pivot Point 4.5. I loved every bit of the story, but personality was something I wanted to be developed in the characters especially for the secondary characters. Spice, that's what I wanted. I did not like the ending that much, but I loved all the adventures Addie got to try. I'd recommend this to all my friends and followers!
